Future of YouTube could be videos with Multiple Audio Language option.

The biggest problem of YouTube that majority of videos are in english. Video in local language are rare. For those who don't understand english these video are of no good. But this could change with little effort by Google.

Few days ago my mom told me to show some videos on YouTube about How to make Sandwich? I eagerly showed some YouTube videos to her via Chromecast on HDTV but She didn't like them and got angry. Can you tell me why She got angry? Don't stress, read on.

Problem in YouTube.

She got angry because all the videos where in english and only one video was in hindi, as she hardly understand english, cooking videos in english are just not for her and people like her who don't understand english. This sums out 70% to 80% population of India are not YouTube audience, since India is a multi-language Country.

This is the biggest problem of YouTube that majority of videos are in english. Video in local language are rare. For those who don't understand english these video are of no good.

What Satellite TV channels do?

Where as satellite set top box by TataSky, Airtel Digital TV, Reliance Digital TV are providing english informative tv channels like History TV18, Discovery group and Nat Geo group channels in different language. One just have to press blue button on remote and can select his choice of audio from various language option.

What is the Solution?

Similarly there should be a blue button in all YouTube video too. So that users can select language of audio that they wish to hear. This feature will give YouTube a wider audience across the globe.

How it can be Done?

YouTube will have to provide a platform to dub every video in multiple languages. This can be done by various dubbing artists across globe. Dubbing companies which would be either verified or even may not be verified. Startup dubbing artists and companies may not be verified but may get verified over time.

Every channel owner have to select dubbing artists, from those who bid for these jobs, to dub audio in different language. Channel owner have to select either one or more dubbing artists for different language. They would then submit translated audio with in a day or a week, depending on length of video.

Since YouTube provides video in multiple resolution format for different bandwidth similarly a blue color toggle can be added in video for different language. There could also be an option for viewer to request for language they wish to hear.

Payments.

Now, payment have to be made by channels owner to dubbing artists via Google. Creators will make payment in advance to Google and they will send payment to dubbing artist after verifying completion and quality of the job done. This will give creators and dubbing companies sense of security and trust.

Conclusion.

Similar translation program is run by Google for Apps in Google Play Store. Where developers can get their apps translated in various languages by other translators. It can be done by little effort and desire by Google.
